From hobbyists to production professionals, Plan V is indispensable virtual visualisation software. Plan V utilises VR and AR to give the user a sense of scale and immersion previously unattainable with traditional pre-visualisation tools. The software, powered by Unreal® Engine, has been developed for Windows desktop platforms, with Mac and Ipad applications coming soon.
Plan V comes packed with a wide range of functions and settings, allowing users to experiment in real time with different lenses, cameras, animations, lighting and many other options without extensive knowledge of 3D applications.
Plan V improves the design process between script writing and set building. It allows users to jump in, iterate and see results immediately. This in turn reduces costs whilst increasing production value and efficiency.
This process was conceived on Black Mirror (Netflix) and has successfully proven itself during the production of His Dark Materials (BBC/HBO).
Allows hobbyists, enthusiasts and freelancers to navigate, storyboard and visualise 3D projects in any discipline - FOR FREE!

The need for Plan V virtual production software grew while working on Black Mirror (Netflix). Dan May and Painting Practice worked closely with production to create a virtual environment that meant the director could navigate through virtual space in real time, saving time, costs and allowing for in-depth shot planning prior to the set-build.
Plan V is powered by Unreal Engine. In this interview Jamie Childs (His Dark Materials S1 Director), Joel Collins (His Dark Materials Production Designer and Executive Producer) and Dan May (His Dark Materials VFX Art Director) explain how Plan V became an essential tool to the making of the series.
Plan V software was used throughout the production of season 1 (and the upcoming season 2) of His Dark Materials (BBC/HBO) to help plan and execute complex VFX shots and set extensions. In this interview, Dan May explains how Plan V was integrated into the production process in the Bear Fight scene from season 1.
Plan V and Plan V Tools are two of the softwares composing the expanding
