Angels & Demons was one of our first major projects. We helped VFX Supervisor Angus Bickerton and Production Designer Alan Cameron to plan out complex sequences which involved big set builds and digital set extensions, especially for the Vatican. We built 3d proxy models of Alan’s proposed set designs and merged them with digital set extensions of the real Vatican buildings. We then presented these to producers and director Ron Howard, along with fly throughs of the build at Long Cross Studios, the filming location. We also created some complex previs sequences using motion capture, including a previs of the final sequence which involved anti matter bomb and a helicopter.
